PURPOSE:To obtain a cylindrical or pillar-like reinforced plastic wherein dimensional change in the longitudinal (axial) direction is substantially near zero or the dimension expands in a cryogenic state as a connecting material, by winding an organic fiber roving on an axis so as to make an angle within a specified range and molding it integrally with a resin. CONSTITUTION:By producing a cylindrical or pillar-like fiber reinforced plastic by using an organic fiber having high strength, high elasticity, and negative expansion coefficient such as polyethylene, aramid, and polyarylate, a member having light weight, high strength, and high elastic modulus capable of fixing and connecting a support material opposing a heat contraction stress in a cryogenic state can be obtained. Although a matrix resin such as an epoxy resin exhibits positive expansion, the organic fiber such as the polyethylene which exhibits negative expansion is used. The cylindrical or pillar-like molded body molded with the polyethylene by properly selecting a winding angle and winding filaments exhibits an expansion coefficient having a large absolute value to the axial direction. As an orientation angle of the fiber, 5-40 deg. is proper to the axial direction, and 10-40 deg. is desirable. |
