摘要 |
PURPOSE:To improve catalytic activity and selectivity by performing the liquid phase reduction of a copper-containing hydrogenation catalyst precursor within a specific temp. range. CONSTITUTION:A copper-containing hydrogenation catalyst precursor molded by supplying hydrogen gas or a mixture of hydrogen and inert gas to copper oxide or metal copper while allowing an inert solvent to flow is subjected to liquid phase reduction within a temp. range of 50-140 deg.C. By this method, catalytic activity is enhanced and a process time required in reduction activation can be shortened to a large extent without bringing about the qualitative deterioration of the solvent subjected to use and the lowering of the capacity of a catalyst. Therefore, alcohol extremely advantageous from the aspect of indistrial production and having high quality can be produced using this catalyst. |
