PURPOSE: To remove dust without requiring a large energy consumption as the sucking removal of dust by electrostatically separating the dust generated by a cutting work in the cutting of a moving strip material such as paper. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal cutter 1 comprises two cutter blocks 4, 6 rotating in arrowed directions 2, 3, and a strip material 11 such as carton, cardboard or the like is cut by the cooperation of cutting knives 7, 8 provided on the cutter blocks 4, 6 in the cross direction of the strip material 1. In this case, each cutter block 4, 6 is provided with a separating surface 16, 17 consisting of a synthetic material for separating/correcting dust, and static electricity is charged on the separating surfaces 16, 17 by charge sources 18, 19, respectively. Otherwise, the separating surfaces 16, 17 are made of metal, insulatively fixed, and connected to the high-voltage power sources 18, 19. The separating surfaces 16, 17 are charged with electricity, whereby dust particles generated in cutting are attracted, and the attracted particles are thereafter removed by a proper method. |
