PRODUCTION OF DIPENTAERYTHRITOL

摘要

PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain dipentaerythritol useful as e.g. a raw material for producing polyesters, etc., in high yield by reaction between pentaerythritol and a urea compound in the presence of a tin catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Diopentaerythritol is obtained by reaction between pentaerythritol and an urea compound such as urea at the molar ratio of pref. (0.5 to 10):1 in the presence of a tin catalyst such as metallic tin e.g. at 120-220 deg.C. It is preferable that the amount of the tin catalyst to be used by 0.1-80 gram atom in terms of metallic tin based on 1000mol of the pentaerythritol.
