PURPOSE: To obtain an image of good quality by making the feed of printing paper stable by executing control so that the leading end of the printing paper is moved to an initial printing position in a release state clamped at the first position of a drum and released at the second position thereof to start printing from the leading end of the printing paper and again clamped at the third position of the drum to be transferred. CONSTITUTION: A printing paper 100 is fed to a drum 10 from a paper feed cassette 130 corresponding to a paper feed signal and, when the paper 100 is sensed by a printing paper sensor 110, the leading end of the printing paper is clamped by a clamp 20 and, at the same time, the drum 10 is rotated by the predetermined number of steps. Next, the leading end of the paper 100 is released at a second position B and the clamp 20 is moved to a third position C. The drum 10 is rotated corresponding to the signal of the sensor 110 to arrange the leading end which is set at the second position B of the paper 100 to an initial printing position and subsequently stopped. Thereafter, one hue among yellow, magenta and cyan applied to an ink ribbon 150 is searched and a printing head 200 falls to press and heat the ink ribbon to sublime ink to print an image on the paper 100. |
