PURPOSE:To obtain the subject antibiotic useful as an agent for preventing and treating mycotic infectious diseases and as a fungicide for agriculture and horticulture, having a high activity, high in selective toxicity and excellent in safety by culturing a specific antibiotic-producing fungus and subsequently separating the antibiotic from the culture product. CONSTITUTION:This antibiotic has the physicochemical properties described below; elementary analysis: C: 55.6, H: 7.3, N: 15.7; melting point: 128 deg.C; specific rotation: [alpha]<20>D-87.5 (methanol); UV light absorption spectrum: absorbation at 220-400nm; IR light absorption spectrum: absorbation at 1650-1530cm<-1>; solubility: soluble in methanol, ethanol, alkali water, water; slightly soluble in n- butanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform; etc. |
