PURPOSE:To realize the copy machining with high precision without being affected by the plasma to be generated in the piercing. CONSTITUTION:In a laser beam machine where the distance L between the tip of a nozzle 2 which is commonly used as a capacitance sensor mounted on a machining head 1 and a work 3 is measured by the capacitance sensor to realize the copying control of the machining head 1 so that this distance L may be constant, the piercing of the work 3 is executed by turning OFF the copying control in the piercing. After the piercing is completed, the copying control is turned ON after the machining head 1 is moved for the preset period of time or the preset distance, and the cutting of the work 3 is executed. Highly precise cutting can be executed because the capacitance sensor does not malfunction by the plasma to be generated in the piercing. |
