CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF FOAM BOARD WITH ISOCYANATE-IMPREGNATED FACING MATERIAL

PURPOSE: To continuously produce a hard plastic foam heat insulating plate of which the surface is finished with at least one cellulosic material impregnated with polyisocyanate. CONSTITUTION: A foam forming mixture 45 is applied to at least one advancing cellulosic sheet 31 or a composite of the cellulosic sheet and an air and/or moisture impermeable material. The cellulosic sheet 31 is impregnated with polyisocynate and sufficiently flexible to be unwound from the transport roll 30 provided along a production line and the moisture content thereof does not exceed about 10% and moisture is distributed throughout the cellulosic sheet substantially equally. Then, a faced foam forming mixture 48 is foamed and cured.
