PURPOSE:To obtain a felt for forming, hardly causing lowering of frame retardancy even when immersed in water for a long time and to provide its suitable production method. CONSTITUTION:In this flexible felt for forming, obtained by mixing a recovered wool with a binder, etc., and then forming the mixture, finely divided sepiolite is nearly uniformly included into felt components in an amount of 10-60wt.% based on total weight of felt components for forming except the sepiolite. In this method for producing the felt for forming a recovered wool into fleece and then binding the fiber by a binder attached by heating, the recovered wool is mixed with finely divided sepiolite so as to provide flame retardancy to the recovered wool. In a carrying step of the recovered wool, fleece can continuously be subjected to flame retardant treatment. Since in this method, flame retardancy is provided without immersing in a solution of a flame retardant, the improvement of productivity and cost reduction can be carried out without requiring a process of dehydration, etc. |
