The method and apparatus reduces the power plant starting time by performing an adjustment of the temp. difference between an overheater and a reheater. The apparatus comprises a boiler(110); a high pressure steam header(130) transferring the high pressre steam from the boiler(110) to a turbine(120); an auxillary steam header(135); a connection pipe(10) formed between the high pressure header(130) and the auxillary header(135); a manually operated valve(15); a pressure control valve(20).
