PURPOSE:To provide a printer capable of preventing the rear side of a form from staining and also, to increase the throughput without executing the useless cleaning. CONSTITUTION:Two sizes (a),(b) which are stored in an original size storing part 5 for storing the original size (a) among printed data transmitted from a host computer 1 to a control part 2 and in a form size detecting/storing part 6 for measuring/ storing the size (b) of the form supplied to a manual paper feeding port of a printer engine in accordance with a signal from a form sensor 4, are compared by a size comparing part 7. By the result of this comparison, the decision is made by a cleaning control part 8 whether the cleaning is to be executed or not, then only in the case of (a)>(b) on the comparison result, the printer engine is instructed to execute the cleaning after the printing. |
