PURPOSE:To shorten the hold time of a repeating transmission line by transferring video information to a buffer arranged at a subscriber exchange at super high speed and performing access from a subscriber terminal to the buffer to which the desired video information is transferred. CONSTITUTION:When the subscriber of a terminal 24b installed on the subscriber side indicates a desired video information number to be observed, the instruction is transmitted through a subscriber transmission line 5b to a buffer 27b. When the desired picture to be observed is stored in a buffer memory, the desired video information is transmitted to the terminal 24b. When there is no desired video information in the buffer memory, however, the request signal is transmitted through a central exchange 22 to the control part of a video information server 23. The control part, which receives the instruction, reads the required video information from a file memory where the video information is stored and managed. The read video information is temporarily transferred to the buffer 27b and presented through a subscriber exchange 21b to the terminal 24b. In this case of transferring the information to the buffer 27b, transfer at super high speed is secured. |
