PRODUCTION OF IODOSOBENZOIC ACID

PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing high-purity iodosobenzoic acid in good yield under mild conditions. CONSTITUTION:The characteristic of this method for producing iodosobenzoic acid comprises converting iodobenzoic acid into a water-soluble iodobenzoate and oxidizing the resultant compound in the presence of a carbonate with chlorine. Since a reactional vessel composed of a usual material such as a material lined with glass can sufficiently be used, the method is optimal for industrially producing the iodosobenzic acid.
