Suction pad lifting beam for plates of large dimension

The lifting beam is a metal structure formed from tubes and has a central longitudinal beam (21). The beam supports legs (24) located on either side it and uniformly divided along its length. The lower end of each leg has an absorbing pin (27) which is applied on one of the faces of the transported plate. Vertical double acting actuators (30) are uniformly divided along either side the beam length. The piston of each actuator is formed by a hollow rod (6) having at its lower end a suction pad (1). Fluid is supplied to each actuator by a motorised pump unit (51) connected to an electrical supply (50) and to a buffer capacity (52). A vacuum is created inside each suction pad by a vacuum pump (55) connected to the electrical supply and buffer reservoir (57). A distributor (58) is connected to the reservoir and to the hollow rod of each actuator.
