PURPOSE:To provide the range-finding method of a range-finding device whose range-finding accuracy is high and whose rangefinding time is short. CONSTITUTION:A standby time t=30mus, a light emitting time TA=40mus, and an unlit time TB=400mus are initialized as a range-finding condition(step S1). After preliminarily projecting light to range-finding points A, B and C, a main subject A is selected(steps S2 to S6). Whether or not a subject distance La to the rangefinding point A is shorter than a specified distance Ln is judged(step S8). In the case La is shorter than Ln, setting is changed to t=10mus, TA=20mus, TB=200mus (step S9). By setting the number No of light projecting times to 64, normal range-finding at the point A is performed(step S10). Based on the result of the normal range-finding, the extending amount of the lens is decided(step S17). |
