Overvoltage protection device for electric lines

The device includes an input (E) connected to an electric line which may be subject to overvoltage. An output (S) is connected to the input of a circuit to be protected, and a further connection is made to a reference terminal (M). The device includes a decoupling device (R) connected to the input and also to a spark gap (EC). The output of the decoupler is connected to a pulse peak limiter (D) which has a terminal in common with the spark gap connected to the reference terminal (M). The output of the pulse peak limiter (D) is connected through a filtering circuit (F) to the output (S) which supplies the circuit to be protected.
