PURPOSE:To obtain a capacitor, which has the low internal resistance and can instantaneously charge and discharge a large current, by forming the capaci tor of solid active carbon obtained by baking a mixture mainly containing the active carbon and a thermosetting resin, and providing a discontinuous part, wherein solid active carbon is not present at the surface and/or inside. CONSTITUTION:Polycarbodiimide resin powder, active carbon powder and polyvinyl alcohol short fiber are mixed. After the mixture is mixed in a ball mill, the material is put into a frame work and molded under pressure. The molded product us heat-treated to 400 deg.C in the air, and the fiber-shaped material is transpirated. Baking is performed to 900 deg.C in the nitrogen gas atmosphere. The baked material is cut so that the communicating hole becomes vertical with respect to the electrode surface, and the plate-shaped electrode is manufactured. The porosity at this time is made to be 20-80%, and the occupying ratio of small holes, whose diameters are 1-5mm, among the total small holes is made to be 95% or more. |
