PURPOSE:To obtain electrode having the large electric capacitance of a capacitor per volume by activating the carbonaceous material obtained by steam a activation of a carbonaceous raw material with alkali metal hydroxide, and molding the powder and granular material obtained by crushing the material. CONSTITUTION:Active carbon powder obtained by steam activation of bituminous carbide is dipped into aqueous solution, wherein potassium hydroxide is melted. Then, the powder is put into a rotary kiln, and the temperature is increased to 650 deg.C in the nitrogen atmosphere and then coiled to a room temperature. After rinsing, the powder is put into a dryer machine and dried. The obtained carbonaceous material is crushed. Ethylene tetrafluoride powder is added into the obtained powder. After well mixing, pressure molding is performed, and the disk-shaped electrode is obtained. Thus, the electric double- layer capacitor having the quantity of electricity larger than the conventional value can be obtained. |
