PURPOSE:To judge the proper operation of an ion exchange resin by measuring the TOC quantity and the molecular weight distribution of an eluted object from the resin, and evaluating the adsorbed quantity to the paired ion exchange resin based on the measured result. CONSTITUTION:The cation exchange resin separated by a separating/ mixing tower 2 is shifted to a resin eluting tank 9 by a shifting pump 8. Pure water is fed into the tank 9 by a shifting pump 15. The tank 9 is adjusted to the constant temperature by a temperature regulator 10. The eluted water from the resin is shifted to a measuring system by a shifting pump 11, and the molecular weight and the TOC quantity of the eluted object are measured by a GFC meter 12 and a TOC meter 13 respectively. The cation exchange resin is discharged 16 from the tank 9, an anion exchange resin is shifted to the tank 9, and the molecular weight and the TOC quantity of the eluted object are likewise measured. The eluting speed of the polymer (molecular weight of 2000 or above) eluted from the resin is calculated based on these data, the adsorbed quantity is evaluated from the contact time at the time of a periodic inspection of the cation/anion exchange resins, and the deterioration level of the ion exchange resin demineralization performance at the final stage of the periodic inspection is estimated. |
