PURPOSE:To enhance color reproduction performance and storage stability by spectrally sensitizing an strasifying effect-giving layer with a specified sensitizing dye and incorporating a specified development inhibitor-releasing compound. CONSTITUTION:The strasifying effect-giving layer is spectrally sensitized with the sensitizing dye represented by formula I and contains the development inhibitor releasing-compound represented by formula II, and in formulae I and II, each of R11 and R12 is alkyl; Z12 is an atomic group necessary to form a benzo-thiazole or -selenazole ring; X11 is a charge balancing group; (m) is 0 or 1, and when an intramolecular salt is formed, (m) is Q; R23 is H or a substituent; Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form a 5-membered 2-, 3-, or 4-membered azole ring; and A is a group to be released as a development inhibitor or its precursor by coupling with the oxidation product of a developing agent.
