PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of whole translation work by retrieving a translation table based on information written in a first language and taking out corresponding information written in a second language to transfer it to an editing part. CONSTITUTION:An input device 1, a display device 2, and a printer 3 are connected to an editing part 4, and a retrieval part 5 and an editing table 6 are provided. Information which are written in first and second languages and can be read by a machine are edited by the editing part 4, and the retrieval part 5 retrieves the translation table based on information, which is designated by the editing part 4 and is written in the first language, to take out corresponding information written in the second language and transfers this information to the editing part 4. In this case, a dictionary and a term library can be used by a computer, and translated words corresponding the words and idioms included in an original text are automatically retrieved and are shown to a translator, thereby easily standardizing the language. |
