PURPOSE:To improve discharge capacity of electrodes and at the same time to reduce the initial capacity loss by constituting the electrodes from two kinds or more of carbon fibers having different specific resistances. CONSTITUTION:Two kinds or more of carbon fibers having different specific resistances among PAN carbon fiber, pitch carbon fiber, cellulose carbon fiber, and vapor phase epitaxy carbon fiber are used as carbon fibers for constituting battery electrodes. Mixed discharge capacity and initial loss can be effectively regulated by setting the specific resistance made to differ three times or more. Especially, use of carbon fibers having specific resistance (rho) of 3.5X10<-3>OMEGA.cm<=rho<=1.0X10<-1>OMEGA.cm of 4.0X10<--5>OMEGA.cm<=rho<3.5X10<-3>OMEGA.cm can enhance discharge capacity and at the same time reduce the initial capacity loss. |
