A chassis 10 carrying electrical components 12 is received in a metal casing 30, so that contacts 68, which are carried by an insulating body 34 secured in the casing 30, enter apertures 24 in the front cover-plate 20 of the chassis and engage contacts 16 located in the chassis. Each contact 68 is L-shaped with a shorter leg 74, Fig. 6, secured in a slot 56 in the body 34 by a terminal screw 80, and a longer apertured contact-making leg 70 whose side edges and aperture 72 are engaged, respectively, by lugs 58 and a projection 60 on the body 34. The contacts 16 are resilient strips secured by rivets (18, Fig. 3, not shown) to an insulating base (14) of the chassis 10, the free ends of the strips 16 being located behind respective apertures 24 for rearward deflection by the inserted contacts 68. The rivets (18) engage conductive strips (84) to which lead wires from the components 12 are connected by eyelets (86). Brackets 36, by means of which the body 34 is secured to the casing 30, have apertures 40 which receive bolts (42) for holding the chassis in the casing. Polarizing ribs 28 on the chassis are aligned with slots 56 in the body 34 which do not carry contacts.</p> |
