Picture Display Apparatus Using Electro-Optical Device

In a picture display apparatus converting the input optical image into a projected picture by photoelectric effect, the whole apparatus is made small with low cost by decreasing the size of the image transfer means. A plurality of graded index lenses are bundled in parallel to the optical axis and an image transfer device is placed between the electro-optical device and the picture display device so that an input optical image on the picture display device is transferred in equisize onto the photoconductive layer of the electro-optical device. The image transfer distance can be remarkably reduced and the image can be transferred without picture quality deterioration and thus, the whole apparatus can be made small and with low cost without picture quality deterioration.
