<p>PURPOSE:To perform much stronger error correcting coding to important data in the case of image constitution by applying error correcting ability made different for important data and non-important data. CONSTITUTION:Digital compressed image data are inputted to a third correcting coding circuit 1, input important data and non-important data are two- dimensionally arranged, error correcting coding is vertically performed, and the data are transmitted to an important data separating circuit 3. The circuit 3 extracts the third code important data, transmits them to a first error correcting coding circuit 2, performs error correcting coding and transmits those data to a coupling circuit 4. On the other hand, at the circuit 3, the third code non-important data are transmitted to the circuit 4, the data from the circuit 2 are inserted to the third code non-important data, those data are transmitted to a second error correcting coding circuit 5, error correcting coding is performed, and they are transmitted to a converting circuit 6. The data are modulated suitably for recording, converted to a current, supplied to a head 7 and recorded in a recording medium 8. As a result, in the case of image constitution, much stronger error correcting coding can be performed to the important data.</p> |
