PURPOSE:To output compressed data of picture data or the like in such size that its complication is taken into consideration by reducing the compressed data to lay out it in an output area and outputting this data. CONSTITUTION:A central processing unit 1 reads out data from a CD-ROM a CD-ROM device 2 and takes out information of numbers of pixels in horizontal and vertical directions of each image data and the number of bytes after data compression and obtains a compression rate Z and the reduction rate of image data subjected to compression processing and obtains the size of image data reduced with this reduction rate. A picture data table consisting of the number of image data, sizes (unit = pixel) in vertical and horizontal directions of image data reduced with the calculated reduction rate, an arrangement flag, and coordinates is generated. Data in the picture data table are transposed in the ascending order of the size in the vertical direction of image data and are updated. Image data are laid out in the output area based on sizes for reduction and are outputted. |
