PURPOSE:To provide the system for getting various kinds of information from an information center connected by a telephone line or the like by reading a bar code attached to merchandise concerning that merchandise purchased by electronic catalog shopping. CONSTITUTION:A communication line 2 connects a MODEM 3 to an information center 1 as needed. When a user utilizes electronic catalog shopping, the name of desired merchandise to be purchased is inputted from an input setting part 7. The desired merchandise name is transmitted through the MODEM 3 to the information center. The detailed data of desired merchandise are transmitted from the information center 1. At the same time, a CD-ROM catalog is reproduced by a CD-ROM drive 4 and the image of desired merchandise is displayed through a display part 5 onto a monitor 6. A calendar 8 is incorporated, and the date of merchandise purchase and the validity of guarantee is recorded and preserved in a data recording part 9. When the input of the bar code is required, it is inputted by using a bar code reader 11. These operations are controlled by a control part 6. |
