A pipe connection (2) joins a revival appts. air cylinder (3) to a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (N.B.C.) filter element (1). The body (21) of the connector (2) is hollow and has two ends (22,23) one of which (23) has a larger rim that extends towards the outside, folds back over the tube then extends outwards in an 'S' form and providing a flange (24). The vertical extent of the fold back (24) is a little shorter than the distance between the upper edge (11) of the top of the opening in the filter element and the actual control filter element. The other end of the connector is directly mounted on the output valve of an air or oxygen cylinder of great purity. The end of the connector fitting the filter element includes two side tabs (25) for fixing. The connection is made from silicone or polysulphone for good temp. resistance and non-toxicity. |
