PURPOSE:To enable long-time use without making a charging operation by providing the device with reflectors which allow the transmission of a part of the wavelengths of incident light and an element which photoelectrically converts the transmitted light thereof. CONSTITUTION:One dot consists of three pixels, red (R), green (G) and blue (B). The respective pixels are composed within two sheets of glass substrates. An amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) solar battery SOL is formed on the one glass substrate SUB1 and a film of a silicon nitride PSV3 is formed as a transparent insulating film and protective film thereon. ITO and silicon nitride are superposed thereon to form the reflectors REFR, REFG, REFB. The film thicknesses of the ITO and the silicon nitride are so controlled that, for example, the reflector REFR selectively reflects the light of 550 to 750nm and allows the transmission of the other light, or the reflector REFG and REFB respectively selectively reflects the light of 450 to 650nm and the light of 350 to 550nm and allow the transmission of the other light. |
