PURPOSE:To improve probability that a subject is caught by a photodetector part whose projected image is wide in the case the subject is in a focus frame by arranging the narrow projected image of the photodetector part upper than the wide projected image of the photodetector part on an image plane. CONSTITUTION:When the head of a human being K which is a subject is aligned With the center of the focus frame F, the head is caught in the narrow projected image SH and a part of the head and the trunk part of the human being K at a distance nearly equal to the head are caught in the wide projected image BH. Since the narrow projected image SH occupies most of the frame F generally, the 1st photodetector part corresponding to the image SH catches the subject aimed by a photographer, and the 2nd photodetector part corresponding to the wide image BH catches only a part of the subject aimed by the photographer. However, the subject in the natural world is nearly extended in the direction of gravity, the wide image BH is arranged under the narrow image SH on the ordinary photographic image plane, so that the other part of the aimed subject is caught. |
