PURPOSE: To improve the transferring efficiency of a multicolor picture, and to improve the quality of copy by operating a pre-transfer toner charging processing. CONSTITUTION: A picture forming drum 60 is rotated towards a pre-transfer toner charging station 80. In the toner charging station 80, pre-transfer charging is operated to the drum 60 before a transfer area to an intermediate belt 20, and a charging tone picture 68c is formed. Afterwards, the post-charging tone picture 68c reaches a transferring station 82. In the transferring station 82, the back face of the intermediate belt 20 is sprayed by corona discharging, and the charging tone picture 68c is electrostatically transferred to the belt 20. Each tandem color tone picture generated by the plural picture forming stations of a tandem color printing system is successively overlapped on the belt as estimated, and a multicolor picture is formed and transferred to a copy sheet. |
