摘要 To dispose of waste from food preparation, which has a low fat content but contains sugar, the waste is mixed with water and degraded in a biocatalyst with active enzymes and any necessary thickener. The mixed mass is sepd. into solids and a sugar soln. The sugar soln. is thickened to a suitable dry content for further use. Also claimed is an assembly with a stirring container, filled with the material, connected to a separator which is linked to an evaporator. The mixt. from the separator is pref. decanted to remove coarse matter. Before the sugar soln; is thickened, colour is removed by an adsorption resin at a temp. of less than 40 deg. C., and sterilised at a temp. of at least 90 deg. C. The recovered solid matter is used as animal feed. USE/ADVANTAGE - The technique is for the disposal of waste matter from mfg. foodstuffs and beverages such as marmalades and jams, stewed fruit, lemonades, fruit and fruit preparations. The system separates and recovers the sugar content in a disposal operation which does not load the sewage system.
