DRAPE ADAPTER

An adapter member (36) for a microscope (12) cooperates with a universal microscope drape having a universal positioning member (38). The adapter member (36) is detachably secured to a lens housing (14) of the microscope (12) in tandem with a lens unit (16) located in the lens housing (14). The adapter member (36) is free from connection with the lens unit (16) and can be installed without disassembling the lens housing (14). The adapter member (36) is threaded to the lens housing (14) and the adapter member (36) has a universal engagement portion that is engageable with the universal positioning member (38) of the universal microscope drape.
