Manual medical or dental instruments are cleaned and/or disinfected and/or maintained by ultrasound. The frequency of ultrasound waves is modified. The frequency of ultrasound waves is determined by a voltage (U1) and modified according to a second voltage (U2), which is adjusted periodically at a lower frequency to the first. Ultrasound treatment is carried out in a vessel (2) of water with an ultrasound emitter (9) in the middle of its base or a side wall. The vessel may be square, rectangular, or circular, or preferably a parallelogram in cross-section, with internal angles of 60 or 120 deg . The ultrasound emitter (9) is controlled by a frequency generator (90) with a voltage (U1) and frequency (f1) which can be modified within a certain range. |
