<p>A cylinder rupture vessel (100) rotates the cylinder during the rupturing process by using at least one driven roller assembly (6) supported on a plurality of bearing surfaces (5). A rupture mechanism (11) punctures the container and, when used in combination with the roller assembly (6), the cylinder is cut into sections. The rupture mechanism (11) may be a water laser (60-63), a milling tool (50), a plasma cutting tool (90), a lathe tool, or at least one cutting wheel (70). Relative movement between the rupture mechanism (11) and the bearing surfaces (5) is achieved by a plurality of actuators (81-84). Treatment or decontamination of contents may be performed in the cylinder rupture vessel.</p> |
