Expanding plastics dowel for anchorage in porous materials

The dowel has a slit expanding area formed by two expanding arms (3,4) of which one (4) is longer than the other (3) so that the semi- circular cross-section of the arm (4) widens out towards the front end of the dowel into a circular cross-section. This expansion can be formed by an inclined face (13) extending from its slit face (10) and running towards the circumferential face. The longitudinal groove (11) formed in the slit face (10) of the extended arm continues on the inclined face with a preferably decreasing groove depth.
