The sealing ring (14) has for adjoining the outer sleeve face (18) of the pipe (10) a substantially flat bearing face (24) which deviates from the round basic cross-section. This bearing face can run substantially flat tangential to the inherently round cross-sectional surface. The contact bearing face (24) of the sealing ring is preferably defined by circumferential ribs (25). The width of the bearing face of the ring corresponds substantially to the diameter of the cross-section of the ring.
