The process involves destruction of allergenic pests by poison gas specifically nitrogen injected into the textile (9) through an array of nozzles (13) fed via a distributor (11) from a reservoir (14) of liq. maintained at about minus 195.8 deg. C. The injection accompanies or immediately precedes the extn. of dust through the suction head (1) from the area of textile surface covered by a slotted plate (3) which is excited by a vibration generator (2). The surface is simultaneously sterilised by radiation from ultraviolet lamps (6).
