The present invention is directed to a stable multilayer lyophile having a radioligand in a first layer and at least one other layer having at least one component which is chemically incompatible with the radioligand in the first layer. The invention also comprises an optional interface layer. The multilayer lyophile provides a number of advantages. First, it allows incompatible ingredients to be contained in separate layers in a single vial. Secondly, it is easier to use because less manipulation is required as compared to a multicontainer kit. Thirdly, less raw materials are required for manufacture because only one package, one label, etc., is needed. Finally, there is increased manufacturing efficiency because only one freeze drying run is needed to prepare the product. |
