ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT ELEMENT

Proposed is a support element (1) for the drag lever of the valve drive in an internal-combustion engine, the support element (1) being switchable to give different valve stroke lengths. To this end, the support element (1) consists of an inner and an outer element (8, 2) which are coupled to each other by pistons (14). Decoupling them by the action of oil pressure or spring pressure causes the outer element (2) to execute an idle stroke so that the gas valve is not opened when the cam lifts.
