<p>Downhill skiing equipment for a person with a lower limb disability, wherein a base (10) attached to a ski comprises a forward pivot pin (27) for an arm (30) supporting a shell (32) for receiving the pelvis of the skier. A cushioning spring (40) is hinged to the base (10) and arm (30) about hinge pins (44, 45) parallel to the pivot pin (27) and differently spaced therefrom. The relative positioning of the hinge pins (44, 45) and the pivot pin (27) and the choice of cushioning spring (40) are such that said spring stiffens when it reaches a condition of maximum stress as the shell (32) moves closer to the base (10) during skiing.</p> |
