Tanker vehicle fuel unloading system

The fuel unloading system allows fuel to be fed from a tanker vehicle with at least one fuel chamber to a stationary storage tank which contains a level indicator, coupled via an electrical line to a switching amplifier (40) on board the tanker vehicle, for operating a magnetic valve for a discharge control valve. A gas monitor provides a control signal for a further magnetic valve associated with the discharge control valve, via the switching amplifier. A dead-man circuit closes the discharge control valve when a hand-operated switching device (54) is not operated within a defined time period, the switching device coupled to switching amplifier, together with an emergency off switch (62).
