This invention provides a molding method capable of filling a cavity of a metal mold for compression molding with powder uniformly and at high density, and providing an excellent powder molded product with little variations of density. A powder feeding shoe box (12) is moved toward a cavity (6) of a metal mold (1), and, simultaneously, vibration is applied to the powder feeding shoe box (12), whereby the cavity (6) is filled with the powder. After the packing density of the powder in the cavity (6) has been set not less than 1.1 times as high as an apparent density thereof, the powder is compression molded.
