PURPOSE:To prevent the ground of recording paper from becoming dirty by setting a light emission frequency or a recording paper carrying speed so as to equalize a toner highest temperature distribution or a fixing strength distribution. CONSTITUTION:A fixing energy of a heating source (g) is set so that the minimum value of the fixing strength of a toner image on recording paper (i) becomes 50%-90%. Subsequently, a light emission frequency of the heating source (g), or a recording paper carrying speed is set so that the minimum value of the fixing strength exists by only one in one period of a fixing strength variation related to carrying of recording paper, in a fixing strength distribution in the recording paper carrying direction (j), or the fixing strength distribution becomes constant except both end parts of a fixed image. Also, the light emission frequency of the heating source (g) or the recording paper carrying speed is set so that the distribution in the recording paper carrying direction (j) of the highest temperature at the time of fixing the toner image on the recording paper (i) becomes constant in both the part which has been irradiated M times and the part which has been irradiated N times, except both end parts of the fixed image. In this regard, M>N, and N>=1. In this way, gas generation sources are decreased and the contamination of recording paper is prevented. |
