An electro-mechanical control for automatic transmission is carried out by push-button switches (PSW, RSW, NSW, DSW, 2SW, LSW) associated with indicators (PA, RE, NE, DR, 2L, LO) into parking, reversing, driving position and so on. The control system consists of a control circuit for the operation of an electric motor (1) and a selection control device including a reduction gear system driven by the motor. The output shaft with a rack gear of the reduction gear system is connected with a shift valve for shifting to the selected position. The control circuit includes an encoders (10, 50) associated with the push-button switches, a delay means (20, 60), flip-flops (30, 70), a reset circuit (80), a comparator (90) and relay switches (100˜103).
