In a battery receiving box (10) having a recessed portion (11) for receiving a battery (E) provided with positive and negative terminals (12a, 12b), in which an opening is formed in the side thereof opposed to the bottom of the recessed portion and in which a pair of contacts (14a, 14b) are brought into contact with two terminals (12a, 12b), being provided in parallel to each other on the internal surface of a side wall of the recessed portion, 1) the battery receiving box (10) includes a short circuit-preventing member 5 comprising a contact maker (15) provided in such a contacting with the head portion of the battery and moved towards and away from the head portion between the two terminals (12a, 12b) and biased eg. by coil spring 21 into abutment with the head portion; 2) a rubber member 31 (Fig. 3 not shown) abuts the head portion between the battery terminals preventing short-circuiting; and 3) the recessed portion has a pocket (41 Fig 4 not shown) receiving the head portion of the battery and a presing plate (45 Fig. 4) biased to push the battery portion into the pocket. <IMAGE> |
