Apparatus for detecting water in e.g. fuel oil, comprises a filter for the liquid, which traps the water either in absorbent paper, or in capillory grooves, between a stack of conductive plates, the electrical resistance between alternate plates being tested to operate an alarm relay at a predetermined value. Several different forms of conductive plates are described. In order to develop the relay operating signal, the apparatus may be connected in the grid circuit of a pentode amplifier Fig. 16 (not shown) or the base circuit of a transistor amplifier Fig. 17 (not shown).</p> |
