In a motor vehicle cooling arrangement, air for a fan 3 is led from an aperture in the vehicle bodywork 1 through a duct comprising an outwardly divergent rigid portion 4 having an inwardly directed flange 4a and a flexible portion 5 secured to the fan casing 2 and having a narrow lip 5a which bears on the flange 4a. An auxiliary duct 9 extends between apertures in the bodywork and rigid part 4 and is closed by a rubber flap valve 7 which opens when the pressure in the rigid part 4 falls below that in the duct 9. A grille 6 may be placed across the opening of the rigid part. The flexible part 5 may alternatively be secured to the rigid part with its lip 5a bearing against the fan casing.</p> |
