PURPOSE:To attain improving accelerating performance or the like without causing busy shifting an automatic transmission, in a power unit for a vehicle provided with an engine with exhaust turbosupercharger and the automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION:An assist means 20 for assisting an exhaust turbosupercharger driven by energy, except exhaust energy, is provided relating to the exhaust turbo supercharger. Also by a control means 54 for receiving outputs of a speed change shift detecting means 55 and acceleration detecting means 56, by driving the assist means 20 only in an accelerating condition further with a speed change shift of an automatic transmission 40 in a high speed shift, at acceleration time in the high speed shift apt to lack horse power, supercharge action is improved to earn the horse power, so that accelerating performance can be improved even not by a shift down. |
