PURPOSE:To cut a pipe at a peripheral velocity at all times regardless of wear in a grindstone at the time when the pipe is cut off with a dislike grindstone. CONSTITUTION:A grinding wheel 10 capable of cutting a pipe 1 is shiftable so as to come near or off to or from this pipe 10. When the grindstone 10 traversed an optical path at the specified position during its movement, a position of this wheel 10 is detected by a rotary encoder 31, whereby a diameter of the wheel 10 is found out. In succession, according to the value of this diameter found out, a rotating speed of this wheel 10 is adjusted by a speed variable motor 18 and thus controlled so as to make a peripheral velocity of the wheel 10 in time of cutting the pipe 1 become constant. |
